The General Hospital recap for Monday, August 12 features hospital vigils, a heartbreaking memory lapse, and a day full of awkward encounters for Alexis Davis.
Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) spent the night by Franco’s (Roger Howarth) hospital bed and shrugged off Epiphany’s (Sonya Eddy) concern for her well being. Elizabeth insisted that all she wanted was for her husband to wake up.
She did acquiesce to Laura’s (Genie Francis) request for a walk together but they ventured no further than a few feet from Franco’s room. Drew (Billy Miller) arrived to sit by his “brother’s” side and dedicated one of his medals to Franco for his bravery in rescuing Cameron.
Sonny was crushed when Mike recognized him only as the man who would perform the ceremony. Later, the two had a private moment and Mike expressed his deep remorse for being such a poor father to his children. A teary-eyed Sonny insisted to Mike that his children — especially his son — had forgiven him.
Trina (Sydney Mikayla) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) tracked Cameron (Will Lipton) down at the park and playfully picked at him for standing them up the night before.
However, they weren’t prepared for the harrowing story that Cameron recounted concerning his kidnapping. He told them that he gelt responsible for Franco’s plight and the girls tried in vain to convince him otherwise.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had her appointment with Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) cut short when she began to babble about her and Neil (Joe Flanigan) parting ways. Kevin emphatically told Alexis that he cannot ethically treat her and must recommend a new therapist. Alexis realized that the reason for the conflict is that Kevin is Neil’s doctor.
After being fired by her third psychiatrist — counting Cameron Smith the first shrink she ever saw who went and died on her — Alexis arrived at Charlie’s and got another unpleasant surprise: Julian (William deVry) is selling the bar and heading to New York City with Kim (Tamara Braun).
Back at GH, Franco’s vitals suddenly skyrocketed and he seized but a potential crisis was adverted when he opened his eyes. However, the initial joy that Elizabeth felt upon hearing the news was snuffed when Franco requested a face to face with “his” commanding officer! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
