General Hospital News: William Lipton Returns To Set and Has New Song

William Lipton is not only reportedly headed back to shoot scenes on General Hospital, but the actor/singer who plays Cameron Webber has a new single he’s released — Heart of Fortune.

William Lipton Has Exciting News

“I’m excited,” Lipton told an ABC7 affiliate, “one just to see my GH family again, I miss everyone dearly. But two, I’m excited to resume giving content to the fans who have been really patient during these times.”

Traditionally, summer is a time when younger characters are thrust onto the front-burner as networks try to entice younger viewers, who aren’t in school for the summer months, into watching the show. Lipton appeared in classic re-airings of GH episodes including his Nurses Ball performance from last year.

Lipton, who made his debut almost two years ago on August 10, 2018, also talked about his latest single Heart of Fortune, which he wrote after a friend of his went through a rough breakup. “Aww, you guys are the best,” Lipton tweeted out to the folks at his local ABC station, thanking him for their coverage.

GH has been back with new episodes since August 3, but over the spring and summer, the ABC soap re-aired many Nurses Ball episodes from over the past few years including last year’s gala. That’s when Lipton sang North Star, a song he composed which led to his second Daytime Emmy nomination. His first came last year in the category of Outstanding Younger Leading Actor.

Cameron’s been thrust into the action on more than one occasion including when he elbowed one of Cyrus’s (Jeff Kober) men so he and Trina (Sydney Mikayla) could escape. When Lipton pops up onscreen again, he’ll likely be in the company of the show’s younger set — including Trina, Josslyn (Eden McCoy), and Dev (Ashton Arbab). General Hospital airs weekdays on CBS.
