With all the talk of Holly on General Hospital lately, it only makes sense that viewers would see her son Ethan once more. Now, Ethan’s portrayer, Nathan Parsons, is checking back in to General Hospital.
Nathan Parsons Brings Ethan Back
Soap Opera Digest reports that Parsons, Holly’s (Emma Samms) son with Luke (Anthony Geary) is coming back for another short stint. The actor created the role of Ethan in 2009 and played the part until 2012. He visited GH in 2013 and in 2015 for brief visits.
What’s bringing him back to the canvas? Story details are being kept under wraps but Robert (Tristan Rogers) has been skeptical in believing that Holly has truly died. Soaps are famous for bringing characters back from the dead as evidenced most recently by Taggert (Real Andrews) doing the Lazarus bit.
Veteran General Hospital fans recall that Holly came back from the dead once before. She was presumed killed in a plane crash in 1987, but was actually in a car crash and left comatose. In 1992, she popped up alive and well long enough to briefly reunite with Robert before both he and Anna (Finola Hughes) were presumed dead in an explosion on a boat that also failed to take the life of Faison (Anders Hove).
During Ethan’s return in 2013, Luke and Laura (Genie Francis) were on the trail of their kidnapped daughter Lulu. Helena (Constance Towers) ordered Laura to kill Ethan in order to save Lulu’s life. A tearful Laura said that her daughter would not want her to do that; she tossed the gun to Luke, who promptly fired it at Helena, killing her. Of course, Helena came back, an expert at cheating death herself.
Since exiting GH, Nathan Parsons has worked regularly, appearing on series including Once Upon a Time, The Originals, and most recently, Roswell, New Mexico on which he plays Max Evans. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
