Soap operas would be nothing without antagonists to stir the pot, so the news that Kelly Thiebaud is returning to General Hospital as Dr. Britt Westbourne is an announcement that is most welcome! In short, the “Britch” is back!
Kelly Thiebaud: Back Again
Britt was last seen in Port Charles in April, shortly after hitting the sheets with Julian (William deVry) in one of the racier sex scenes that daytime dramas have seen in recent years.
Soap Opera Digest broke the news that Thiebaud is bringing back Britt and it’s not just going to be for a few episodes. She’ll be around for a longer stint this time around. There won’t be any problem working her back into the story, as Britt is an OB/GYN, has worked at General Hospital in the past, and has several dynamics in place with a variety of characters.
Since exiting GH, Thiebaud has worked steadily, appearing on the primetime program Station 19 as Eva Vasquez. There’s no word on if she’ll be returning to the ABC drama, but she might be able to work out a deal if her character does show up again. Not only are both series on ABC, but both shoot on the same lot in Hollywood! More recently, Thiebaud recurred as attorney Zoey on Days of our Lives.

Thiebaud was an instant hit when she joined GH back in 2012. She and Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) had a fling, but Britt did not hit it off with Patrick’s daughter, Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer). Patrick broke things off with Britt quickly after he overheard her badmouthing his child!
Next, Britt conspired to worm her way back into Patrick’s life by showing up at the Nurses Ball, pregnant with his child! Or so we thought. In reality, Britt had swiped Lulu’s (Emme Rylan) embryo and carried her child, Rocco (O’Neill Monahan), to term.
Eventually, Lulu and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) were reunited with their son. Britt won her freedom from jail by turning in her mother, Dr. Leisl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). No word on what will specifically bring her back to the canvas. Stay tuned to find out! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
