The General Hospital (GH) recap for Wednesday, January 31 features a heartbreaking day in Port Charles as Maxie has to deal with being a pregnant widow.

Ultimate Heartbreak
As Nathan (Ryan Paevey) flatlined, Griffin (Matt Cohen) ran in to save him, but it was too late. While it looked like they didn’t work on him too long, we’ll assume in soap time, it was time to give up and that’s what Griffin did. He told a broken Maxie (Kirsten Storms), who said goodbye to her husband and went home.

Of course, Liesl (Kathleen Gati) and Nina (Michelle Stafford) were also devastated, as well as Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Emme Rylan). Liesl tried to lay some of the blame on Lulu and she may have a very valid point.

Mac (John J. York) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) took Maxie back to her apartment and then Amy showed up with Nathan’s belongings. As Maxie went through them, she found a bloodied ultrasound picture and broke down in her parents’ arms.

The Loss Of An Officer
Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) was busy arguing with Aunt Stella (Vernee Watson) when she learned one of her cops had been killed and Stella started to realize just how hard Jordan’s job is and actually had some sympathy.

The Loss Of An Absolute Madman
In another part of the hospital, Faison (Anders Hove) laid near death and his son, Henrik, aka Peter August (Wes Ramsey), taunted him. Faison was horrified to hear he killed his son and Peter walked away smugly as Faison seemed to be going into cardiac arrest.

However, Peter revealed he has that flash-drive-in-a-disco-ball that contains Drew’s memories, which can make things very interesting for the Quartermaine twins.

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
