Why is it that everything about Nelle is a letdown on General Hospital (GH) besides how glorious of an actress Chloe Lanier is to watch?
This recent Daytime Emmy winner deserves so much more than an obsession with hurting Carly that just won’t end.
When she first arrived in Port Charles, Nelle revealed herself as Josslyn’s kidney donor, but we soon learned she had it in for Carly though we didn’t know why. Discovering that Nelle is the biological daughter of Carly’s adoptive father who left when she was a toddler was like–what? We waited all this time for THAT?
Now, a pregnant Nelle has been gaslighting Carly for months, making her believe either Morgan is haunting her or she’s crazy.
And she had the piece de resistance at her baby shower, right? A frightening gift she forced Ava to give her without Ava knowing what was inside. A gift designed to make Carly lose her mind. A gift for fans waiting for a payoff. Yeah, no, not that.
Rather than a bloodied piece of Morgan’s clothing, it was a penguin mobile, and OMG–Morgan loved penguins. That dirty Ava.

How could she do that to Carly? How could Ava remind her of her beloved son because OF COURSE Morgan talked about his love for penguins in the afterglow of bedding Ava. Now, THAT’s conversation.
Amazingly, Morgan must have been the only little boy in the world who saw Happy Feet and Happy Feet 2 and fell in love with penguins. What an incredible child that Morgan was as his adoration of penguins must have consumed him.
But, seriously, GH–this is what Nelle had planned for her shower? Drive Carly crazy with a penguin mobile? Yes, things didn’t go quite according to plan in the end, but with a ridiculous one like A PENGUIN MOBILE, what the heck did Nelle expect?
