We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again–introducing “The Most Evil Cassadine of Them All”–even someone Helena fears, and then turning him into a flawed man who was once a hunchback and now a loving father just does NOT work.
We also have to believe that this character we’ve gotten to know, as someone not evil at all since fall, killed Nikolas in cold blood last summer. Again, not buying it.
We’re especially not buying it after watching Valentin take to that piano today and sing a romantic Billy Joel tune to his wife Nina (Michelle Stafford), just because he loves her.
Heck, he loves her just the way she is and paid a cool seven figures to sing her a song. WE love HIM!
Seriously, Helena FEARED this? HELENA? Are you KIDDING us?
We’re not saying Valentin is the kind hero who would never hurt a fly. We know he has a temper and even an agenda, but genuine evil? Who’s zoomin’ who here?
It’s okay if the current writers decided to take this character who was not much more than a myth the last few years and turn him into someone else, but they need to clean up the Nikolas mess STAT.
And that means bringing Nikolas back so we can have TWO flawed Cassadine men battling it out for Wyndemere and control of the Cassadine fortune. If GH can’t work out a deal with Tyler Christopher, then give us Nick Stabile.
Just end this pretense of Valentin as a cold-blooded killer and do it fast. It brings down an otherwise incredibly played (by James Patrick Stuart) and fleshed-out character.
Did you miss Valentin’s turn at the piano today, or do you just want your heart to melt again? If you answered yes to either of those questions, watch the video below.
