We may not see her on screen yet, but today Monica finally makes her way back to General Hospital (GH).
Or at least Leslie Charleson is finally back on the set after an extended absence due to a leg injury earlier this year.
The soap has marked her return with social media fanfare, showing us a classic photo of Monica back when she was a spunky young GH doctor married to Alan Quartermaine, but also having her affairs as Alan and Monica tended to do.
Charleson began her tenure on GH 41 years ago, but fell when walking her dog one morning this spring, putting her out of commission for months. During her absence, Patty McCormack appeared in the role with many fans wondering why Charleson would be replaced.
McCormack’s run has come to an end and recently, Michael and Drew have explained that Monica has an illness so she is staying away from a very pregnant Nelle, which seems to be a reason for her not being on screen.

With GH taping several weeks ahead of time, it won’t be till mid-August when we see the Monica we know and love barking orders and dealing with the fallout from Nelle’s latest and possibly final games.
