Earlier this week, General Hospital fans learned Scarlett Fernandez, who plays Charlotte, was in a bike accident but she wasn’t the only young star in the GH orbit to take a spill this year. Actor TK. Weaver, who played Jason and Sam’s young son Danny on General Hospital for three years, had quite a spill earlier this year and now there is an update on his progress.
TK Weaver — On The Mend
In January, his mom posted on Instagram that he had gotten into a nasty bike accident and injured his face badly. The injury required a hospital stay and some surgery on his face and teeth. Then in March, young Weaver broke his foot and damaged another tooth while playing.
Thursday, his mom, who runs his Instagram account, updated his fans on what’s happening with him, and thankfully, there is some good news.
“So this picture has been touched up and we know that you can still see some of the damage to TK’s left side, but his surgeon’s have been amazing and all his doctors are very happy with his overall look and progress,” she wrote next to the image she described. “He’s happy with the way it looks so far. We’re still waiting for the lip to fully heal and hopefully the scar to fade, but so far so good.”
She explained it hasn’t been an easy process but her son has been a trooper throughout and has appreciated all the kind posts and well wishes that have come his way. His mom went on to detail more about what he’s been going through.
“The trickiest part was the lip and we are still dealing with some dental issues, but we’ll get him where he needs to be,” she wrote. “On Zoom or FT it’s hard to tell he has an injury, but it shows up on camera so he’s still not doing much. Thank you all for your prayers and support always. TK loved reading/hearing all your notes of encouragement.”
It was back on Jan. 10, that she first posted the news of his scary accident. At the time, she explained how TK spent the day at a children’s hospital after the bike crash.
“He doesn’t want us to post any pictures of his injured face but he asked that we post this recent picture before the accident and ask for healing prayers,” she wrote. “He has been through a lot. He had surgery and got some stitches. He has been really tough. He has appointments set up Monday with a dentist and follow-up Tuesday with a surgeon. He’ll be okay but it might take quite awhile to heal. Please send good thoughts and prayers. He said he needs them and really appreciates it. Thank you so much.”
His fans came through big time and his social media was flush with greetings. Soap Hub also wishes Weaver well on his road to full recovery. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
