Like most General Hospital Cassadines and all teenagers everywhere, Charlotte Cassadine thinks she’s the smartest person in the room. Nobody can tell her anything. She knows all…and she’s always right. Oh, and that she is also forever the victim, never the villain.

Charlotte Cassadine: Born Innocent

Right now, she blames Anna (Finola Hughes) for shooting her. And, thinks everyone else should do the same. Oh, sure sweet, innocent, blameless, harmless Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) was in Anna’s apartment…in the dark…wearing a black cape….rifling through Anna’s things…holding a flashlight, but what of it?

Okay, yeah, this happened while a stalker had already tried to kill Anna and burn down her house (read more about that here). Under such circumstances, who would blame Anna for pulling a gun? It was a classic case of shoot first, ask questions later. Not in Charlotte’s eyes, though. Only an evil woman who hated Charlotte personally would commit such a violent atrocity. She was a target!

Professional Help

Of course we, the viewers, know that Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) brainwashed Charlotte. Papa Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) knows it, too. Alas, even if he were to tell his darling moppet this, she’d never believe it. See being a Cassadine. And a teenager. And a brat.

Maybe her step-grandpa Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) could comp Charlotte with a few therapy sessions. (We know the Cassadines don’t have jobs, which presumes they don’t have medical insurance. And rich people never pay out of pocket for anything.) He knows a bit about brainwashing. But, would Charlotte listen to a peasant so beneath her royal status?

From the Top

Charlotte is way beyond what your friendly neighborhood shrink is capable of accomplishing. She needs WSB-level deprogramming. The kind Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) required after their traumatic experiences. But, those two guys wanted help. Charlotte doesn’t think she needs it. Save her bullet wound — which she recovered from in record time — everything in her life is going great. Why would she want to change that?
