Some things never change on General Hospital. We were hopeful that Drew would come out of his locked-in state a changed man, but that did not happen. He’s as awful as ever.
Key Takeaways
- Drew could not get even with Willow when he came out of being locked in.
- He could have seen the error of his ways when he was unable to move.
- He came back swinging at his same old enemies.
- Drew hasn’t changed a bit.
Drew Could Have Been So Much Better
Drew (Cameron Mathison) was unable to do anything but blink for months. He was forced to listen to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) ramble on about why she shot him and why she was drugging him. You could practically see his blood boiling.
As horrible as Drew was, some were feeling sorry for him and couldn’t wait until he broke free and got away from his crazy wife. He could have run to the PCPD, and Willow would be sent straight to Pentonville. That never happened because Jack (Chris McKenna) found evidence against Drew that Willow used as blackmail.
Even if he couldn’t get even with his wife, it would have been nice if he saw the error of his ways during his paralysis. Maybe if he did an apology tour and tried to right his wrongs, the old beloved Drew would have come back. No such luck.
Same Old Drew
Drew is back and as bad as ever. His very first stop when he was able to walk was Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) house to reclaim his daughter and drag her away from her family. He then continued to brawl with the Quartermaines, hate Sonny (Maurice Benard), and wreak his usual havoc on Port Charles.
Drew hasn’t changed a bit; he was back to walking with his cane while he badgered Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and argued with Jason (Steve Burton). He immediately returned to his old song and dance about keeping Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) away from her brother. It felt like deja vu. His fixation with his brother and nephew has remained the same.
How long can this go on? What was the point of Drew being locked in if he came out the same as before? A new Drew would have been a breath of fresh air, but it looks like that will never happen. Would you have welcomed a changed man?
