General Hospital‘s Willow has been getting more evil by the minute, and Nina is trying to blame it all on Dawn of Day. What was this cult, and could it have turned Willow into a monster?

Dawn of Day

Kristina (Kate Mansi) was going through one of her many difficult times after a breakup. When she was approached about joining a “self-help group,” she signed right up. Kristina was enthralled with the group, especially their leader, Shiloh (Colby Ryan McLaughlin), aka David Henry Archer.

Shiloh claimed that he turned his life around after a near-death experience in Afghanistan, and he was all about spreading the word about personal growth. Sam (Kelly Monaco) quickly became concerned about her sister, but Kristina vehemently defended Shiloh and the group.

Sam was right to be worried because Shiloh had an inner circle known as The Trust. The cult leader drugged, branded, sexually abused, and coerced women into revealing their most damaging secrets. Sam went undercover, and Jason (Steve Burton) rescued Kristina before her “initiation” was completed.

Eventually, Sam shot Shiloh on a boat. He fell overboard and his body was recovered.

Willow and Dawn of Day

Sweet, innocent Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) arrived in Port Charles after she had given her baby up for adoption. It turned out that the baby’s father was Shiloh. Willow had grown up in the Dawn of Day cult. Her mother, Harmony (Inga Cadranel), was in love with Shiloh, and her affair with him destroyed her marriage to Willow’s father.

Harmony tried to convince Willow to come back to Shiloh and DOD, but she refused. When Harmony discovered that Shiloh had killed Willow’s dad, she finally turned against him and tried to repair her relationship with her daughter.

Harmony told Carly (Laura Wright) that Willow’s biological mother was Nina (Cynthia Watros), and Nelle (Chloe Lanier) was her twin, right before she died. Since the truth came out, Nina has done everything she can to be close to Willow and protect her.

Nina is suddenly bringing up Willow’s childhood in a cult as a possible defense for shooting and drugging Drew (Cameron Mathison). Ric (Rick Hearst) seemed doubtful this would work, but growing up in a cult and being sexually assaulted probably did some damage to Willow.
