November 19 marks the 35th anniversary of the most popular soap opera couple of all time, Luke and Laura. The General Hospital mainstays took their vows on November 19, 1981 in an episode that at the time became the highest rated soap episode in history.
It featured Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor as the original Helena Cassadine, as well as a returning Kin Shriner as Laura’s ex, Scotty, who surprised everyone when he caught the bouquet.
Yes, Luke is no longer in Port Charles, and he and Laura are divorced, but that doesn’t mean actress Genie Francis doesn’t want to celebrate the occasion.
