It had been simmering for way too long and today’s words and subsequent actions were long overdue on General Hospital (GH). Jason and Drew came to blows and it was glorious.
We were finally reminded that Drew (Billy Miller) really is sitting there with Jason’s memories, but perhaps not Jason’s feelings. After all, he wasn’t at the docks once again waiting for a shipment for Sonny (Maurice Benard). That was Jason’s job then, and apparently, Jason’s job still.
It was actually possible to feel for Drew today as he went over his life with Sam (Kelly Monaco) and her own fears over the last two years–two years where all Drew knew was being Jason (Steve Burton). He’s finally finding his own self, but everything he remembers is 20 years as someone he’s not.
However, it was absolutely glorious to listen to Jason finally say what he had to say. He’s been nothing but Jason since he returned to Port Charles–quiet, stoic, and yes, chivalrous. But, there was no way he wasn’t actually feeling and thinking and today we got to hear those thoughts.
And yes, we had to agree. Sure, Drew has Jason’s memories and until a few days ago, had his wife, but yes, he was absolutely treating Sam like a possession, something the actual Jason never did.

Perhaps, Drew has just been trying to hold onto something while life as he knew it was slipping away. But, that didn’t make him more likable and frankly, it made him grating and annoying. Today, we finally got a window into Drew’s feelings, as well as a Jason who spoke. All of that had to happen to move this story forward.
Sure, it would be nice to see Drew and Jason act like brothers one day because they are, and TWIN brothers at that. But, that is a long, long way off and was never something that was just going to happen without a mob assassin and a Navy SEAL giving it all they got on the docks.
