All it took was instinct for Lulu to realize Charlotte was her daughter this week on General Hospital. Thanks to Maxie’s creepy turn on an OBGYN table (and Lulu naming Valerie as the woman who had an affair with her hubby–good one, GH), she even got some evidence. And, next week, she gets the truth–we think.
Yes, according to the December 19 issue of Soap Opera Digest, Valentin confesses that Lulu is indeed Charlotte’s mother, and Claudette was just a surrogate. Lulu (Emme Rylan) can’t wait to tell Dante, but Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) is less-than-thrilled. After all, his wife now wants custody of a child who is actually a Cassadine.
As for Valentin, actor James Patrick Stuart claims his character wanted Lulu to learn the truth all along, but he doesn’t think that will interfere with fatherhood.
“Valentin gets what he wants,” Stuart tells Digest. “The trouble, of course, is that if it becomes too dramatic, then it harms the child. I think the primary focus is for him to keep things as even-keeled as possible for the kid.”
The actor does admit Charlotte brings out Valentin’s softer side and has him wrestling with his own morality. He even tells Lulu that he was Helena’s victim in her little embryo game.
Why Helena decided to create a child with Valentin and not her own son Stavros remains to be seen, but we still think there’s more to this story than meets the eye. Perhaps Valentin has been duped, as well. Or, perhaps, he’s still duping everyone, as Soap Hub theorizes in this story.
