Talk of Alexis Carrington permeated the Dynasty reboot premiere on Wednesday but the former matriarch of this prominent clan never showed her face.
Others did, in various forms. As seen by the end of the first episode, we know that Blake (Grant Show) is married to Krystal who is now Cristal (Nathalie Kelly) and that Sammy Jo (Rafael de la Fuente) is male and gay not female and straight.
So what about Alexis? Will she remain her calculated and manipulative self?
Tough call. To closely emulate the break-out character from the original ABC prime soap that ran from 1981 to 1989, Joan Collins may actually need to do as the British thespian has done in real life: She will need to be alluring to a younger man with art imitating life as Collins married a guy who is decades her junior (she’s 84, he’s 52).

Of note about this conundrum: Alexis wasn’t seen in the flesh until the second season of the original Dynasty so there’s probably time to make this crucial casting. And if Joan Collins is busy or just not into that role any longer, then who will fill her very high heeled shoes?
The New York Post puts up potential Alexis Carrington candidates for the Dynasty reboot’s most ruthless female character with Halle Berry, Catharine Zeta-Jones, Jennifer Lopez, Vanessa Williams, and Dynasty alum Heather Locklear.
We like the latter idea (it’s ironic!) but who do you choose?
