Kevin has always had a close relationship with his two nieces, Annie and Tess, on This Is Us. The girls have always loved him, and Kevin’s always been able to connect with them in a way others can’t.
But, in this flashback video, Kevin (Justin Hartley) is forced to apologize to the girls after talking about death in a very scary way. He manages to do so in a very sweet and tender way that truly resonates with the girls.

“I think I scared you before. All that talk of ghosts and dying. All that adult stuff we were reading about, that’s some pretty confusing adult stuff.
