Tanya Thicke recently talked about what was likely the worst day of her life: Dec. 13, 2016. That is the day her husband, Alan Thicke, died.

Thicke was known to daytime audiences as Rich Ginger on The Bold and the Beautiful. Also, his first wife, Gloria Loring, played Liz Chandler Curtis on Days of Our Lives. Thicke rose to fame as a late-night talk show host, but his biggest role was as psychiatrist Jason Seaver on the hit primetime sitcom, Growing Pains.

The veteran actor suffered a ruptured aorta during surgery a mere three hours after he experienced a heart attack while playing hockey. His stunned wife was told by the attending doctor that her spouse of 11 years had “expired”.

Obviously, Tanya Thicke was heartbroken by this unexpected news. That morning had been a typical one in the Thicke household, during which time the couple made plans for the day before Alan went off to play his favorite sport.
