Entertainment News: Love and Family

It’s over for Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman. After eight years and two kids, the couple is going their separate ways. The couple announced the split on January 31.

Rihanna’s pregnant! The superstar is expecting her first baby with boyfriend, A$AP Rocky. The couple made headlines on Monday while taking a stroll with Rihanna showing off her budding baby bump.

Also bringing a baby into the world is rapper, Da Brat. She and her fiancé, Jesseca Depart are getting ready to welcome their first child into their family.

Nick Cannon has a reason to smile after a dark time in his life. He lost his infant son to brain cancer in December and is about to welcome baby number 8. He and model Bre Tiesi are expecting a boy.

Shia LaBeouf is on his way to fatherhood. The often troubled star is expecting his first baby with wife, Mia Goth. The couple were married in 2016, filed for divorce in 2018, rumored to be back together wearing wedding bands in 2020, and now creating a family.

Gold Star Accomplishments

It’s the end of an NFL era with the retirement of superstar athlete Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl champ announced he is stepping away from the sport after a 22 season run.

Crime and Punishment

Ex-CNN Anchor Leon Harris made headlines this week after trying to run after a crash. He was arrested for a DUI at the scene of the accident. Allegedly he drunkenly rammed into the back of a car causing it to hit a third vehicle.

Felony drug charges were laid pertaining to the death of Michael K. Williams. The star died of an overdose last September. Charged are Irving Cartagena, Hector Robles, Luis Cruz, and Carlos Macci. They were each put up for narcotics conspiracy for the sale of the fentanyl-laced heroin that killed the actor.

Entertainment News: Celebrity Scandals

CNN President Jeff Zucker stepped down at the network this week. He confirmed he failed to disclose a relationship with a colleague and as part of taking accountability, he resigned from his position. Stepping into his role in the interim are Michael Bass, Amy Entails, and Ken Jautz.

Whoopi Goldberg was suspended from The View for two weeks amid her controversial remarks about the Holocaust. The TV host came under fire after claiming the horrific persecution of millions had nothing to do with race. She has since recanted but the damage was already done.

RHOC alum, Elizabeth Vargas got quite a scare when her ex-boyfriend showed up at her door and tried to extort her. Things took a turn when he not only refused to leave her property but barricaded himself inside causing the swat team to take over. He was eventually arrested.

Casting About

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is getting another installment with a familiar face. After 50 years, Olwen Fouéré steps back into the role of Sally Hardesty in the new Netflix movie. The movie will be ready for streaming on February 18th.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

Famed actor Howard Hesseman, who rose to fame as Dr. Johnny Fever in the WKRP in the Cincinnati franchise and as Sam Rover on One Day at a Time passed away. His death was announced to the media on January 31. He died at 81 years old after suffering surgical complications.

It was a heartbreaking week for the family of Cheslie Kryst. The Miss America 2019 champion jumped from a New York City high-rise on January 30. She passed away at the scene. Kryst was 30 years old.

Also reaching a tragic end was 31-year-old Moses J. Moseley. The Walking Dead star took his own life last week. His body was found on Wednesday in the Stockbridge, GA’s Hudson Bridge area.

A concert shooting at the Jose Asuncion Flores Amphitheatre in Paraguay took the life of soccer star Ivan Torres’s wife, Cristina Vita Aranda. She died in the hospital after a gunshot wound to the head. She was 29 years old.
