Britney Spears won a big victory this week when her dad agreed to step down as her conservator. The bombshell announcement hit the presses on Thursday. TMZ reports Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, suspects Jamie “reaped millions of dollars from his daughter’s estate.” It’s an accusation they intend to prove.

Entertainment News: Love, Marriage, and Breakups

Joey Lawrence is ready to be a husband again. He got down on one knee and asked his two-time former costar, Samantha Cope. He filed for divorce from Chandie Yawn-Nelson in July 2020 after 15 years of marriage.

Speaking of marriage, Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman is heading that way. He went on the “Two Guys from Hollywood” podcast to talk about popping the question to Francie Frane and their upcoming wedding on September 2.

Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker, is sporting a ring on her finger. She announced her engagement to Louis Thornton-Allan this week.

Not dating or engaged are Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer. Huffington Post reported that according to their reps, those online rumors are false. Jennifer and David are just friends and not falling into the footsteps of their alter egos, Ross and Rachel.

Not in love anymore is RHOA Kenya Moore. News broke this week the star filed for divorce in May as well as for custody of her daughter, Brooklyn. Husband Marc Daly isn’t giving up his rights, though. He wants joint custody of their child. BET has all the details.

Pregnancy Announcement

Christina Ricci announced her second pregnancy this week. The news comes after her fight for a contentious divorce from her allegedly abusive ex-husband. No word on who the father is, but TMZ reports her personal hairdresser shared the ultrasound snaps on their social media. Coincidence? Maybe.

Entertainment News: Illnesses & Injury

Christina Applegate opened up about her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. She received the news earlier this year and talked about her journey with the disease. The star took to Twitter to share her thoughts.

Country singer Claire Dunn allegedly suffered an attack by her Lyft driver this week. The police placed the driver under arrest and accuse him of beating Dunn after an argument ensued during the ride.

Sizzling Scandals

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star “Mama June” made headlines this week. Her boyfriend, Geno Doak copped a plea deal in his crack cocaine case. You can read all the details here.

Prince Andrew is under fire once again. This time, the royal is going to civil court where Virginia Roberts Giuffre is suing him for sexual assault. She claims she was a victim of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme and became Andrew’s victim.

Casting About

The race to find Alex Trebek’s permanent replacement on Jeopardy is over. The network announced Mike Richards will serve as the new host. Mayim Bialik was honored as the new host for all primetime and spin-off specials.

It’s a good year for Judith Light. Just weeks ago it was announced she was joining the cast of HBO Max’s Julia. This week, news broke she will also star alongside Courtney Cox in Starz Horror-Comedy ‘Shining Vale.’ TV Line has all the details.

Casting has begun for Netflix’s Addam’s Family show, Wednesday. Jenna Ortega is set to play Wednesday Addams alongside Luis Guzman as Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

Sherlock fans are in mourning this week. The show’s iconic actress, Una Stubbs (Mrs. Hudson) passed away this week at age 84. The superstar spent the majority of her life on-screen starring in such roles as Till Death Us Do Party’s Rita Rawlins, Caroline Bishop in EastEnders, and Miss Bat in The Good Witch. The R&B world lost a powerful voice this week with the death of Nicole Hurst. The backup singer for such superstars as Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, and Justin Timberlake passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.
