Rosie O’Donnell already revealed how she felt about Elisabeth Hasselbeck during her time on The View, but now she is coming after Whoopi Goldberg. She obviously had strong feelings about the women on the panel.
In a new book about The View, called Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View, the 57-year-old revealed Goldberg was not nice to her during their time together.
“Whoopi Goldberg was as mean as anyone has ever been on television to me, personally — while I was sitting there,” she said in an excerpt obtained by Us Weekly.
“Worse than Fox News. The worst experience I’ve ever had on live television was interacting with her.”
The once-coined ‘Queen of Nice’ added, “Some people would say, ‘What’s going on with you and Whoopi?’ I was like, ‘Are you watching the show? It’s pretty much right there.’ I have no desire for a public feud.”
Of course, Goldberg wasn’t her only target in the new book. While O’Donnell came on as a host back in 2006, she left three weeks before her contract ended. In addition to conflict with Goldberg, she also reportedly had a conflict with the legendary Barbara Walters.
This news also comes just a couple of days after she revealed she had a crush on Hasselbeck, though it was never sexual.
“[It’s] not that I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to support, raise, elevate her, like she was the freshman star shortstop and I was the captain of the team,” she says in the book.
“I was going to Scottie Pippen her. If I was [Michael] Jordan, I was going to give her and the ball and let her shoot. But it was in no way sexualized.”
She continued, “Here’s what I said, ‘I’m the senior. She’s the freshman. I’ve got a really good player on the freshman team, but I have to teach her how to loosen up.’”
