Lopez confirmed her engagement to Affleck the same month the Jenny From the Block video was released by showing off her gorgeous 6.1-carat pink diamond. The ring cost somewhere between $1.2 and $3.5 million! It’s been reported that she wrote the song Dear Ben about her love for him.
The Almost-Wedding
Affleck and Lopez had reportedly scheduled their wedding for September 14, 2003, but just four days before the wedding was supposed to happen, it was postponed. At the time, the couple said it was due to “excessive media attention,” but Lopez was spotted not wearing her ring just days later. However, the two were then seen together again that October, so many believed they were still heading for marriage.
Parting Ways
Unfortunately, just a few months after the couple was seen together, Lopez was spotted getting close to her ex, P. Diddy, in Miami. Affleck and Lopez officially called it quits in January 2004 after almost two years together.
