Entertainment News: Illness and Injury

It was a tragic week on the set of the upcoming movie ‘Rust.’ A major prop malfunction caused the accidental shooting death of Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Alec Baldwin was holding the prop that misfired injuring director Joel Souza and killing Hutchins. Deadline has all the details.

Celine Dion isn’t coming back to Vegas on her original schedule. The Canadian songstress postponed hitting the stage citing medical issues. All shows are canceled through to February 2022.

‘Survivor: Fiji’ season 14 contestant Michelle Yi was rushed to the hospital this week after being attacked in Santa Monica. Police were called to the scene on October 14 where they found a woman battering victims with a metal pipe. Michelle was one of those randomly targeted.

Adrian Holmes was involved in a fatal accident this week. The actor set to play Uncle Phil in the Fresh Prince reboot ‘Bel-Air’ was driving one of three cars that struck and killed a man laying on the freeway. TMZ reported on the tragedy.

Queen Elizabeth made headlines this week after her representatives were forced to admit Her Majesty was in the hospital. The 95-year-old Monarch is said to be in good spirits but no diagnosis has been shared with the press so far.

Scandals & Random News

It’s been a big week for the artist formerly known as Kanye West. His name change is official and he will be known from here on out as ‘Ye.’ The famed rapper is quoted as saying his new name carries special meaning as being the most used word in the Bible.

Ruby Rose took to Instagram this week to expose toxic behavior on the set of Batwoman. She accused co-star Dougray Scott of verbally abusing women during filming. Scott refutes the claim and says Rose wasn’t welcome back for season 2 due to her own on-set behavior. Read all about this scandal here.

Alyssa Milano was arrested in Washington D.C. this week during a demonstration outside of the White House. She was there to advocate for voting rights but ended up in cuffs.

Musician and reality star Flavor Flav was booked for Domestic Battery this week. The Public Enemy rapper is said to have assaulted his partner during a fight at their shared home. The star celebrated one year clean and sober just days after the incident.

Entertainment News: Love and Family

Famed rocker Travis Barker got down on one knee this week. His reality star girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian was upgraded to fiancee and wearing his ring. This will be Kourtney’s first time down the aisle and she is looking forward to being a bride.

Lance Bass celebrated being a father by sharing the first pubic pictures of his twins, Violet and Alexander. He and his husband, Michael Turchin welcomed the babies last week and are settling into fatherhood quite nicely. See the adorable snaps here.

Legendary musician Eve is pregnant with her first child. She and her husband, Maximillion Cooper are expecting their bundle of joy next February. The baby will join Cooper’s four other children he shares with Julia Brangstrup.

Jamie Lee Curtis and her daughter, Ruby, had people talking this week. The pair opened up about Ruby’s journey as a trans woman and what her journey has been like for the whole family. People magazine shared their in-depth interview.

Mel Gibson made headlines this week. He was cast as the lead in the latest addition to the ‘John Wick’ franchise. ‘The Continental’ serves as a prequel to the movies. The three-episode special is set to air on the Starz network in 2022.

L.A. Law is getting a revival and fans will be happy to learn Corbin Bernsen is back on set. He reprises his role as Arnie Becker when the new pilot airs. Blair Underwood is also coming back playing his memorable character, Jonathan Rollins.

Harry Styles is said to be joining the Marvel Universe. Reports state he’s taking on the role of Eros, brother of the evil Thanos. His first appearance will be during the post-credit tag where his character is introduced. Watch for the clip in theatres when Marvel’s Eternals goes up on the big screen.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

It was a heartbreaking week in politics with the loss of Legendary politician Colin Powell. The trailblazing soldier turned politician changed the game by not only becoming the first black national security adviser but also the first black Secretary of State. He passed away from Covid-19 at 84 years of age.

The Andy Griffin Show actress Betty Lynn passed away on October 16. The actress rose to fame as Barney Fife’s adorable girlfriend Thelma Lou on the popular sitcom. Lynn was also known for her roles on My Three Sons, Disneyland, and Family Affair. She was 95 years old.

Chris Ayres, known as the voice of Frieza in the Dragon Ball series passed away on October 18. He succumbed to a battle with end-stage COPD. He was 56 years old.

Emmy-winning actor Peter Scolari passed away on October 22 following a years-long battle with cancer. He was famous for many roles including starring opposite Tom Hanks on Bosom Buddies, Newhart, Girls, and That Thing You Do! He was 66 years old.

Former UFC fighter and Martial Arts Hall of Famer Brian Gassaway died at age 49. So far, no cause of death has been announced. Yahoo! Sports has all the details.

Switch & DeBarge singer Tommy DeBarge passed away this week after a long battle with kidney and liver disease. The R&B artist was 64 years old and leaves behind quite a legacy. TMZ has the full story.
