This week has brought triumph and tears to some of your favorite celebrities. We’ve gathered some of the top entertainment news stories from May 7 – 14, 2022, to keep you updated on all the celebrity happenings.

Entertainment News: Love and Family

RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ross Mathews is a freshly married man. The reality star walked down the aisle with Wellinthon García in a special ceremony featuring Drew Barrymore as their flower girl.

Franke Grande also wed this week. He and his partner, Hale Leon tied the knot during a Star Wars-themed wedding. They said their I do’s on May 4th.

It’s a beautiful time to be Michelle Williams. She is pregnant with her third child. She and Thomas Kail are thrilled and looking forward to welcoming their new bundle of joy.

Also pregnant is Kelly Osbourne. She announced the pending arrival of her first child with Slipknot rocker boyfriend, Sid Wilson. Kelly made the announcement on her Instagram.

Marc Anthony is getting ready to be a husband again. The musician, who shares twins with Jennifer Lopez, proposed to his model girlfriend, Nadia Ferrerira. She said yes and is now sporting a very stunning rock on her finger.

Gold Star Accomplishments

Anthony Anderson is a University graduate. The Black-ish actor received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Howard University on May 9th.

Selma Blair is releasing her memoir. The book will come out on May 17th and highlight many parts of her life, including childhood alcohol abuse, surviving sexual assault, her rise to fame, and her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. You can currently line up a pre-sale copy of Mean Baby on Amazon.com.

Entertainment News: Illness and Injury

Kelly Ripa is taking a step back after testing positive for Covid-19. The TV host is doing well and said she will be returning to Live! with Kelly and Ryan after all precautions have been met.

Celebrity Scandals

James Cromwell made headlines this week after teaming up with PETA to take on Starbucks, He glued himself to the counter to advocate for animal rights and protest the coffee house for serving animal products.

Casting & Changes

The Whoniverse has spoken and the new Doctor is revealed! Dr. Who welcomes Ncuti Gatwa to the lead role. He takes the role as the first feminine doctor, Jodie Whittaker, exits.

Wendy Williams is intent on reclaiming her show and vowed to return in the coming season. However, fans shouldn’t count on it just yet. Sources claim she, and the show, are not ready for Wendy to sit in her iconic purple chair.

Bad news came for Dynasty fans. The CW reboot will end after its fifth season. So far, there is no word of the showjumping to another network.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

Naomi Judd’s death shocked the world last week. This week, her daughters confirmed their mother tragically died from a self-inflicted gunshot. Fans can join the family in mourning on Sunday as the memorial service goes live to air on CMT.

May 10th marked the death of Jack Kehler. The 75-year-old was a mainstay on the big and small screens during his nearly 40 years of acting including roles in The Big Lebowski, Murder One: Diary of a Serial Killer, and The Man in the High Castle.

The world of country music is mourning the death of Mickey Gilley. The famed musician died at 86-years-old on May 7th. He toured until his very last days with his final shows having just taken place in April.

This week, the family of actor James Olson announced his death. The Hollywood mainstay died in his home last month on April 17. His family opened up to the media about the 91-year-old’s passing.

Former CBS News Correspondent Richard Wagner passed away on May 12. He was the face of CBS news from the 1960s until the 1980s. His wife confirmed the 85-year-old’s death to the media.

News came on Friday of Fred Ward’s passing. The actor died on May 8th at 79- years old. He was best known for his roles in Tremors, Short Cuts, and won a Golden Globe for The Right Stuff. His last wish was for donations to be made to the Boston University’s Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center.

On Friday, word also came of Bruce MacVittie’s death. The 65-year-old entertained many in his 40 years on screen, taking roles in The Sopranos, As The World Turns, and Law & Order. His cause of death was not released at the time of publication.

Days of our Lives actress Deidre Hall reported via her Facebook page that her twin sister Andrea’s husband of 31 years, Thomas Gengler, passed away last week after battling an undisclosed illness.
