Entertainment News: Love & Family

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is engaged. She accepted comedian Jay Mohr’s ring this week and wasted no time announcing the big news. The couple started dating in 2017.

ABC News anchor Maggie Rulli is a mommy! She welcomed her first child, Rosemary, to the family on December 23rd. She and Morgan Blake are thrilled with their precious early Christmas miracle.

The Flight Attendant actress, Kaley Cuoco, and two-time Guiding Light Daytime Award-winning and Ozark actor, Tom Pelphrey, are positively over the moon about expecting their first child together and it shows in the latest photos. Check it out here.

Famed rapper 21 Savage was honored in Georgia this week with his very own holiday. State Representative, Billy Mitchell, proclaimed December 21st as 21 Savage Day to celebrate his humanitarian work. TMZ has the full story.

Illness and Injury

There was sad news this week concerning soccer legend Pele. His cancer is worsening and he is receiving care for his kidneys and heart. The 82-year-old remains hospitalized in São Paulo.

Ex-Broncos Ronnie Hillman was admitted for hospice care after unsuccessful treatments for renal medullary carcinoma. His family shared the news with fans and said he is being kept comfortable and out of pain.

Tori Spelling was in the hospital this week after experiencing a bout of dizziness and trouble breathing. While she didn’t update her fandom with a diagnosis, she did post criticizing naysayers. People Magazine has the story.

Harvey Weinstein lost another case. He was found guilty of three more sexual assault charges. According to TMZ, he was convinced of forcible rape after the jury came back with the verdict.

Justin Bieber called out retailer H&M for unauthorized merch sales. The company claims they did nothing wrong in using his likeness but did end up pulling the line after Bieber told his fans to stay away from the clothing.

That’s So Raven actor Orlando Brown is in hot water this week. He was arrested on domestic assault charges. According to reports, he is accused of threatening a relative with a knife and a hammer.

Jeff Garlin may be off the Goldbergs but he’s found a new home. He is joining the cast of Never Have I Ever for season 4.

Cecily Strong has left Saturday Night Live. She said her final farewell during last week’s Christmas special. The Emmy-Nominated actress spent a decade on the stage as a featured player.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

The Specials lead singer Terry Hall died on December 20th after a brief illness. The Specials are iconic for helping bring the ska style to the mainstream in the 70s. Hall was 63 years old.

Football Hall of Fame, Franco Harris passed away on December 21st. The 72-year-old will fondly be remembered as one of the most iconic players in NFL history.

British director Mike Hodges, best known for bringing Get Carter and Flash Gordon to the screen, died on December 20th at 90 years old. He spent more than four decades behind the camera doing what he loved.

Former film actress Diane McBain passed away on December 21st after battling liver cancer. The star was best known for her work in the ’60 such as Diane St. Clair opposite Elvis Presley’s Mike McCoy in Spinout. She was 81 years old.

Veteran actor Ronan Vibert passed away on December 22 after a short illness. Known for such films as The Snowman, Shadow of the Vampire, Tomb Raider II, and The Pianist, he attended The Royal Academy of Arts. He was just 58.
