According to the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department, officials responded to a single-vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes at approximately 7:12 a.m.

The vehicle involved was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard at Blackhorse Road when it crashed. Woods was transported to a local hospital. The vehicle sustained major damage.

According to TMZ, Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent, says that the golfer has sustained leg injuries and he is currently in surgery.

An L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. source adds that they do not believe alcohol was involved, but have not said whether or not another substance was involved.

Tiger Woods had been in the area earlier this week commentating at his TGR Foundation Tournament at the Riviera Country Club. Just a few weeks ago, the golfer had had back surgery to remove a pressurized disc fragment that was pinching his nerve.

Woods recently shared that he felt “stiff” and wasn’t prepared to say when exactly he’d be returning to playing in a professional tournament. The hope was that he’d partake in the Masters on April 8.

“A lot of it is based on my surgeons and my doctors and my therapists and making sure that I do it correctly,” Woods said to CBS’ Jim Nantz. “This is the only back I got, so I don’t have much more wiggle room left here.”

Entertainment Hub will bring more details as Tiger Woods’ condition is updated. In the meantime, we send well wishes that the beloved sportsman has a full and speedy recovery from his injuries.
