Deadline broke the news, and Burnett followed up with an Instagram post: “10 year old Molly would be speechless (scroll to final picture for reference.. I was 10 years old when I wrote to ‘Hollywood’ demanding they hire me 😂)

“Honestly this is just so freakin amazing, and I’m eternally grateful,” Burnett continues. “Thank you so very much to @davidtfriendly @benjamindlobato and @dailynrod for trusting me, my amazing team @archetype_mgmt @shepardearlsmith and @a3artistsagency , the forever family I have made at @queenonusa , and @deadline for such a lovely write up. Queen of the South stars Alice Braga as Teresa Mendoza, a woman who lives life on the run from the Mexican cartel. She hopes to stay alive by seeking refuge in America. Kelly is a member of the drug operation Teresa runs. So far, we’ve seen Kelly kill off her abusive husband, become an informant and barely escaping with her life, and develop an addiction to cocaine. Last seen at the end of Season 4, Kelly was working on being sober and reconnecting with Teresa.

Soaps got back into production last summer. Primetime shows have been working their way back into a schedule, too. “It gives me great pleasure to let our fans know that unless another hurricane comes (NO TY!) we will soon resume shooting S5 (Season 5) on QOTS in the Big Easy,” posted David T. Friendly, executive producer.

“Thanks for being the very best fans in the TV Universe,” he adds. “Having read all the scripts, I can guarantee fans are in for another epic ride! The actors are eager to get back to work, EPS Dailyn Rodriguez, Ben Lobato, and me are packing our bags, and the hundreds of crew members, producers and executives are eager to make this our best season yet! Stand by for more details!”
