Meghan Markle is getting ready to welcome her first child in just a few short months! The Duchess of Sussex made a quick visit to New York City this week to celebrate her pregnancy with a baby shower thrown by her closest friends.
News of the baby shower first broke earlier this week when people spotted Meghan in New York.
“And seeing as no one can keep a secret anymore (wasn’t planning to share until after it happened), I can confirm that friends are throwing a baby shower for Meghan and nearly 20 guests on Tuesday,” Royal correspondent Omid Scobie tweeted.
Though we don’t have confirmation, pals that could attend this baby shower include Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney and potentially Serena Williams, another one of her close pals.
The future mom-to-be was spotted shopping at a children’s store over the weekend in the Big Apple and was seen what looked to be a good time with a friend.

“They were having a lovely time, laughing and talking with each other,” a source at the time told Us Weekly.
Meghan won’t have that much time in New York, however, as she and her husband Prince Harry are scheduled to make a trip to Morocco from February 23 to February 25.
“The duke and duchess are looking forward to the visit which will highlight the vital roles that girls’ education and youth empowerment are playing in, and shaping, modern Morocco,” Kensington Palace said in a statement.
Meghan and Harry tied the knot back in May 2018 and announced their pregnancy in October. This is the first child for both of them and he or she is expected to arrive this spring.
