Try not to freak out too much, Law & Order: SVU fans, but your favs, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, just reunited over the weekend and we have the pictures to prove it!
Former partners Detective Olivia Benson and Detective Elliot Stabler — AKA Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni, had dinner together on Sunday, September 15 and made sure to share some photos from the evening to Instagram.
Hargitay shared the series of pictures to her account with the caption, “Sunday night dinner….” Hargitay and Meloni, of course, starred on SVU together for 12 seasons until Meloni decided to leave the NBC drama in 2011.
Despite the fact they no longer work together, the former co-stars always find time to see one another and they often post photos of their reunions to social media for the fans.
Though there aren’t any official plans to bring Meloni back to SVU anytime soon, fans will be able to see Benson back in action when the 21st season premieres on Thursday, September 26.

With its 21st season, SVU is now officially the longest-running prime-time drama in history, passing both Gunsmoke and the original Law & Order. In celebration of the record-breaking season, Hargitay got to throw out the first pitch at the Mets baseball game over the weekend and was joined by her husband, Peter Hermann.
Hargitay shared a photo of herself and Hermann following the game and wrote the caption, “#AboutLastNight had a blast with this one. Thank you @Mets for letting me throw the #FirstPitch #HargiPitch to celebrate #SVU21 #Happiness #Joy #Gratitude #LOVE.”
