The One America Appeal relief concert for hurricane relief at Texas A&M University raised millions on Saturday with a meet-up of various luminaries supporting this big event.
A host of artists were on the roster, including Yolanda Adams, Lyle Lovett, Sam Moore, and Robert Earl Keen. Lee Greenwood presided over the evening’s entertainment.
Also on hand were five former U.S. Presidents: Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.
Oh, and Lady Gaga showed up, too, much to nearly everyone’s surprise. In College Station, she sang her hits Million Reasons, You and I, and Edge of Glory while sitting at a shiny white grand piano.
Mother Monster proudly posted about her appearance on Instagram, saying, “It was an honor to be invited by these five living Presidents to perform and speak at this historic event where we put our differences aside and put humanity first in the face of catastrophe.”
As for the outcome of this charity concert, CNN reports that more than 80,000 people donated as of Saturday night, giving more than $30 million at that time.
All of the proceeds from One America Appeal will go to the rebuilding efforts in Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands after Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria devastated the areas.
