Kevin Hart and Other Celebs Come Through With Hurricane Harvey Relief!

 Comments

The country watched in horror this past weekend as Hurricane Harvey slammed into the Texas coast–and stayed there, displacing families, destroying homes, and flooding Houston to an extent the city has never seen before.

The National Weather Service expect Harvey to dump a ton more rain before he leaves, but celebrities have wasted no time offering their help for their fellow Americans.

According to The Los Angeles Times, comedian Kevin Hart led the brigade for relief. He shared on Instagram that he donated a hefty $25,000 to the American Red Cross, and then called on fellow funny men Steve Harvey, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and Jerry Seinfeld to also make donations.

He asked these comedians, along with musicians Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Justin Timberlake to then tag someone else to do the same. That kind of chain reaction challenge worked several summers ago when celebs–along with everyday Americans–participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for ALS, aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Country music star Chris Young also got in on the action, donating a whopping $100,000 to a GoFundMe page that also benefits The Red Cross. See his YouTube video below.

Of course, average citizens like you and me can hardly afford such large amounts, but every little bit helps. Here is list of links to donate what you can.
