Hunter King has won two Daytime Emmy Awards for playing Summer Newman on The Young and the Restless, having won for Outstanding Younger Actress in both 2014 and 2015.
Hunter King Is Thrilled For Joey King
The King family added to its award bling this weekend, when King’s younger sister, Joey King, took home the award for Comedy Movie Star at the 2020 People’s Choice Awards for her role as Elle Evans in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth 2.
Big sis took to her Instagram to congratulate her 21-year-old sister on her big win, posting a photo of Joey from the People’s Choice stage.
“Joey King: Incredible human, amazing sister, very good gift wrapper, homemade pecan pie extraordinaire, caring, thoughtful, stunning, funny, AND the People’s choice award Best Comedy Movie Star?! This girl wears all the hats!” King wrote. “Your dedication, your drive, your talent, all inspire me every single day. I love you sweet JoJo. LOOK AT YOU SHINE”
After being named the winner, King thanked her fans and director and talked a bit about what everyone is going through today.
“This year has been so weird. I’m not going to be the first person to say that tonight on this stage, but the fact that our movie and my character brought some laughter to everybody at home, that makes me smile,” the actress said. “That makes me feel so good. That makes me feel so happy.”
She also fulfilled a promise she made to herself that if she won, she would let people in on a very exciting piece of news. During her acceptance speech, King revealed that The Kissing Booth 3 will be released next summer.
“I’m so excited! I wish it was tomorrow, I really wish it was tomorrow,” Joey King said. “Thank you guys so much! Thank you for loving this movie and for loving this character as much as I do. It just means so much.”
