Grey’s Anatomy Star Ellen Pompeo Speaks Out on Alex Karev’s Exit

If you haven’t seen last night’s Grey’s Anatomy, which reveals the final fate of Dr. Alex Karev, be warned before reading this story that you will get spoiled on how it goes. With that out of the way, there’s one person everyone has wanted to hear from about this particular exit.

Ellen Pompeo Addresses The Fans

Ellen Pompeo, who stars as Dr. Meredith Grey on the popular medical drama, is speaking out on the episode, titled Leave a Light On, and has a special message for the show’s fans.

“Thank YOU!” Pompeo posted. “You are truly the best most passionate most loyal fans anyone could ever ask for. Because of you we got to make great TV… because of you we got to make television history! I say often life is hard and thank God it is because like I tell my kids… it shows us what we are made …of how strong we really are and let’s face it… without the lows there would be no dancing it out or celebrating this incredible experience we call life.

For me personally for Karev to go back to the beginning…. was the best possible storyline. While Justin Chambers, who played Alex, did not appear visually in newly created footage in his last episode, he did provide voiceovers as Alex bid farewell to Meredith, Jo (Camilla Luddington), Bailey (Chandra Wilson), and Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) in handwritten letters.
