ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat is sailing off into the sunset. The series, which is in its sixth and final season, ends tonight. The show featured the Taiwanese-American Huang family and was set in the 1990s.
Fresh Off The Boat Comes To An End
The series is going off in style with a trip to Disney World. In the first part of tonight’s one-hour series finale, Eddie (Hudson Yang) brings his two brothers Emory (Forrester Wheeler) and Evan (Ian Chang) on a road trip to Washington D.C. to dig up a time capsule they left behind before moving to Florida. Meanwhile, parents Jessica (Constance Wu) and Louis (Randall Park) let go of the family van. Lucille Soong plays Grandma Huang.
Eddie will be faced with a tough choice — going to culinary school or having an interview at the prestigious Harvard University. Jessica is ecstatic about the latter. Watch for Eddie to stand up to his mom in order to put his own needs first.
Playing With The Timeline
The finale contains both flashbacks and flash-forwards. Andy Richter (Conan; Santa Clarita Diet) guest stars as himself and there will be additional appearances from characters who’ve been a part of past episodes.
Fresh Off the Boat, which premiered just over five years ago, is based on the memoir of chef Eddie Huang. The tome takes a look a the lives of Eddie, a hip-hop loving young man, who relocates with his family to Orlando from Washington D.C. So, the trip to Disney World in the finale is overdue!
