Diona Reasonover currently stars as forensic scientist Kasie Hines on NCIS. Because she was only made a series regular in Season 16, there’s still a lot to learn about the newcomer.
She has quickly become popular with fans of the longtime CBS show. From where she grew up to her first television gig ever, here are five fast facts you need to know about new NCIS star Diona Reasonover!
In The Beginning
Though she lives in Los Angeles now to continue her acting career, Reasonover was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She attended Renaissance High School and started performing in a theater group when she was a teenager. She ended up going to Oberlin College and got her degree in both theater and dance.
Improv Star
Following college, Reasonover moved to California and got her Master’s Degree from California Institute of the Arts. She then started working in theater in the San Diego area, but she eventually became a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, which is an improv group started by Amy Poehler. They perform in and around Los Angeles.

Just Getting Started
While she’s currently on a long-running network show, Reasonover only just started working in television. In fact, her first television gig came in 2015 when she got cast in the short-lived TBS comedy called Clipped. The show ran from June to August, and then it was canceled.
Following In Big Footsteps
After a string of guest-starring roles on different television shows, Reasonover was eventually cast as Kasie Hines on NCIS in order to take over for fan-favorite Pauley Perrette, who was leaving her role as Abby. Reasonover started out as a guest star but was quickly made a series regular. This is also her first major role.
Getting Personal
Along with being a very successful actor, Reasonover is also a married woman. She tied the knot with her wife, Patricia Valetto, in 2018 and the two seem very happy. In fact, Reasonover frequently shares photos of the couple on her Instagram account.
