English actress Emilia Clarke, best known for her role as the Mother of Dragons on HBO’s mega-popular fantasy series Game of Thrones – and whose on-screen death is still derided by millions – is about to celebrate a major milestone.

Happy Birthday, Emilia Clarke!

And that’s because she was born on October 23, 1986, in London, England, which means that this talented performer is turning 34 years old today! Having been intrigued by the acting profession since girlhood, Clarke took to appearing in stage productions put on by her schools.

After honing her craft at the Drama Centre (of) London, Clarke made her professional debut in an episode of the medical soap opera Doctors (2009). She subsequently appeared in the made-for-TV movie Triassic Attack (2010) before being cast as Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen (2011-2019).

During her hiatus from the serial, Clarke made her feature film and Broadway debuts in Spike Island (2012) and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (2013) respectively. Her other acting credits include the films Dom Hemingway (2013), Terminator Genisys (2015), and Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018).

Emilia Clarke has also voiced multiple animated characters in programs such as Futurama, Robot Chicken, Animals, and Thunderbirds Are Go. In addition, she has appeared in the stage plays Private Lives and The Seagull.

Outside of her acting, Clarke is known for serving as the spokeswoman for a plethora of products including Dior’s Rose des Vents jewelry collection and Dolce & Gabbana’s perfume “The Only One.” Since 2020, Clarke has served as the global ambassador for the cosmetics company Clinique.

Clarke is also a supporter, champion, and envoy for a number of charities. She’s raised funds for the SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) Trust, served as a patron for Open Door (a non-profit aimed at helping aspiring young actors gain admission to drama school auditions), and she has served as the sole ambassador to the Royal College of Nursing since April 2018.

But closest to her heart is the foundation she started, SameYou, for brain injury recovery after the star herself survived two life-threatening brain aneurysms in the early days of shooting Game of Thrones. Entertainment Hub would like to wish Emilia Clarke a very happy birthday.
