Colton Underwood is currently filming his season of The Bachelor, and though it may look like it’s all fun and games, some former Bachelor stars know how tough of a process it really is.
Ben Higgins, who was the star during Season 20, and Nick Viall, who was the star during Season 21, opened up to Entertainment Tonight about Bachelor Nation’s newest leading man and how they think the season is going to go.
“Is it a surprise? I really don’t think it was,” Ben explained. “I was going to be surprised if it wasn’t him. He may not be the most liked choice, but I think people were intrigued by him.”
Though Ben wasn’t surprised they went with Colton, Nick felt like it was an interesting pick, especially considering the fact that he’s a virgin.
“I mean, I was surprised by the choice, but I get why they picked him. It’ll be interesting. Colton, by his own admission, has mentioned that he’s got a very limited dating life. I’ll be interested to see how that plays out in the season,” Nick explained.

“I’m not specifically talking about his virginity, but just dating in general. He does have to be decisive.”
Not to mention, the show is an emotional roller coaster, which is something Colton didn’t handle very well during his time on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.
“I think it will,” Ben said when asked if the experience will eat Colton alive.
“I would tell him that, and not in a bad way. I think we’ll see him struggle and I think we’ve seen all of us struggle through it. I think Colton really cares. This might be the most authentic, and genuine, and transparent season that we’ve ever had. I think he’s going to feel it.”
No matter what, it’s sure to be a great season of The Bachelor!
