Bebe Rexha is defending her father after he criticized her appearance earlier this week. The drama began after the singer shared a text conversation she had with her dad, Flamur Rexha, to Instagram.
In the post, Rexha’s father revealed he was disappointed in her newest music video “Last Hurrah” because it was fairly racy.
“You better stop posting stupid pornography because you make me sick. I can’t take this anymore.”
He also said that he’s “embarrassed to go in public.”
A number of fans rushed to the 29-year-old’s defense on social media.
“Good morning to everyone except Bebe Rexha’s dad,” one person tweeted.

Somebody else wrote, “Omg! He should not be embarrassed! She is amazing. But a balkan dad is a balkan dad! @BebeRexha don’t feel one sec ashamed!”
Following the backlash, Rexha took to Twitter to defend her father and his words.
“Don’t say mean things about my dad please he is an amazing father. I should of never have posted that screenshot. I’m disappointed in myself. I was being sarcastic,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
“I understand where he is coming [from] as a father and that’s why the text was a bit harsh. I am upset that he still isn’t speaking to me, but he is still my father.”
