Bachelorette alum, Kaitlyn Bristowe, is spending some quality time with her family following her breakup from Shawn Booth.
The former reality star is back home in Vancouver, Canada, just one week after calling off her engagement.
In fact, she posted an Instagram Story on Thursday, November 8 of her hometown.
Following the news of the breakup, the 33-year-old’s dad also flew down to Nashville to spend a little time with her.
He was also in town to be with Kaitlyn while she records music, something she’s been working on for the past few months.
“I can’t tell you how much it meant to me, to have my dad by my side while I recorded my song yesterday,” she said on Instagram.
“His dad was a musician and I just felt like he was so proud of me. Can’t wait for you guys to hear it. Nothing like channeling emotions into music.”

As many Bachelor Fans know, Kaitlyn and Shawn announced their split in a statement to People earlier this month.
“After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways. This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration,” the statement said.
“Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends. We have both evolved as people, which is taking us in different directions, but with the hope that we will continue to support each other in new ways.”
The statement continued, “Due to the nature of how we met, our relationship has always been very public, and we have enjoyed sharing it with all of you, but we ask that you respect our decision and our privacy at this time.”
Another source recently told E! News that the couple had been having problems for quite some time.
“Everyone knew they have been having problems, but they weren’t ready to address it and we respected that,” the source said.
“Kaitlyn and Shawn are great people on their own but you could tell they weren’t going to ever make it down the aisle together.”
