Longtime Bachelor producer Elan Gale has decided to leave the franchise once and for all.
The news of his departure was first announced by creator Mike Fleiss on Twitter on Thursday, December 6.
“Can’t comment on why @theyearofelan is no longer part of #TheBachelor team, but we wish him the best in all his future endeavors…,” he wrote at the time.
While it appeared to be a shocking departure for most fans, a source told Us Weekly Elan was just ready for a new chapter.
“He felt it was time to move on,” a source revealed.
His contract with the show was officially up and he was looking to spend more time with his girlfriend, actress Molly Quinn.
However, the news of Elan leaving actually came as a shock to ABC, who had no idea he was planning on leaving.
A few former Bachelor Nation contestants spoke out about Elan leaving the show, including former Bachelor star Nick Viall.

“If you have enjoyed the Bachelor at all over the past 10 years this man played a role,” Nick wrote on Instagram.
“Elan has moved on from Bachelor Nation, he will be missed. So tell Elan thank you Bachelor Nation. Amen.”
Evan Bass, who married Carly Waddell after they met on Season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise, also shared a nice message to Elan.
“Elan wasn’t able to be at our wedding but he’s the reason me and Carly are me n Carly. He’s the reason [daughter] Bella exists,” Evan said.
“He taught me more in a few weeks than I’d ever learned in my entire life. He is probably an alien but he’s our alien and he’s the best alien to ever exist.”
Evan continued, “I love you Elan and I am forever indebted to the loves you helped me find.”
