It’s Monday, January 7, which means Bachelor star Colton Underwood’s new season premieres tonight, but he’s here to tell you he’s not like the past Bachelors.
Though some people have been comparing him to former Bachelor Sean Lowe or other contestants from past seasons, the 26-year-old knows he’s not like everybody else.
In fact, the former football star opened up to E! News about his experience as the leading man and revealed he didn’t stick with the status quo.
“This whole entire thing wasn’t always pretty. It wasn’t perfect. I wasn’t the perfect Bachelor. I made a lot of mistakes,” he explained.
“It was hard, I knew it was going to be hard, I knew it was gonna push me and it was going to be emotionally draining at times, but it was going to be also rewarding at times.”
He continued, “The ups and the downs are there, and that’s why I said — it’s real, raw, vulnerable. I did things much differently than any other Bachelor has ever done it.”
While he is the first virgin Bachelor, he’s hoping it’s not the only thing people talk about when discussing his season.
“Is it overplayed? Absolutely. But it’s one of those things that, I think, looking back at my time on The Bachelorette and Paradise, that’s really all anybody knows about me,” he said.
“It is something that I can definitely make light of, and I can have fun with.”
He continued, “And I enjoy having fun with it, but it does have a serious side to it, and they know that as well, and they respect it.”
Do you think Colton will be different than the other Bachelors from the past or will it end just like everybody else’s?
Let us know what you think about the upcoming season!
