Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham picked the perfect location for their honeymoon following their gorgeous Maui wedding.
The pair tied the knot on Saturday, January 12. After the nuptials they jetted off to the island of Kauai where they spent quality time as husband and wife.
Though Lauren likes to relax on vacation and Arie enjoys being active, the couple was able to compromise on their honeymoon.
“I’m the type of person who loves to do activities when I travel, and Lauren likes to relax. So we did a mixture of both!” Arie said to People.
“It was awesome. We had the Presidential Suite that overlooked Hanalei Bay. It was breathtaking.”
Not only did they spend time on the beach, they made sure to take a helicopter ride, see a waterfall, and even go horseback riding!
“We went horseback riding. We ended up at this waterfall and went swimming and had lunch. It’s pretty funny,” Arie shared.
“We had the helicopter ride, the horseback riding, the waterfall. There were lots of Bachelor-like dates on our honeymoon!”
That definitely sounds like a Bachelor date to us!
Because it’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks, both Arie and Lauren are having a hard time jumping back into the real world.
“We’ve got a bit of the post-wedding blues,” Lauren said.
Arie added, “We didn’t want to leave!”
However, now they have the arrival of their little girl in June to look forward to!
“We’re in nesting mode. We’re going to go shopping and get everything ready,” Lauren said.
“Picturing our lives 20 years from now is so cool. It feels like a lifetime ago that we met on The Bachelor. It’s surreal, and very cool,” Arie shared.
We are so happy to hear you had a wonderful honeymoon, Arie and Lauren! We can’t wait to meet your little girl in a few months.
