Andy Cohen is proudly introducing his son, Benjamin Allen Cohen, to the world!
The Watch What Happens Live host shared details of little Ben’s birth and what the first few weeks of fatherhood have been like with People.
Not only does Ben look like the Real Housewives producer, but he also has an incredible head of hair!
The good news is it’s exactly what the 50-year-old was hoping for.
“I was in the delivery room. I had been hoping that he would have a full head of hair, and he really over delivered,” he shared.
“That was the first thing you see, the head of hair coming out. And I was amazed.”
Once Ben was cleaned off, the nurses gave him to Andy so they could do skin-to-skin for the first time.
And, rather than cry or fuss, Andy’s little guy was as peaceful as could be.
“He was so alert for the first two hours. His eyes were wide open. He didn’t cry; he was just calm. I kind of have no words for it,” Andy said.
While he’s so thankful to all the fans for their support, he’s most thankful to his surrogate, who lives in California.
“I worked with an incredible surrogate. She was in California. Surrogacy is illegal in so many states, including New York. I don’t understand why. It’s a voluntary process, obviously,” he shared.
“My surrogate just viewed it as, she was giving me the ultimate gift. She gave me life. So I’ll be forever indebted to her.”
Andy shared the cover of the People shoot on his Instagram page and included the caption, “This is my son!! I grew up reading @People cover to cover, at a time when being gay meant there was no way to have a family. Now I’m honored to be the first gay dad featured on the magazine’s cover. Thank you @mrjesscagle for sharing my story.”
