It may be hard to believe that it’s been a decade since Farrah Fawcett passed away. If you’re a fan of the late star, you won’t want to miss this upcoming TV special on her.

As the anniversary of Fawcett’s death approaches, ABC has put together a two-hour documentary, titled This Is Farrah Fawcett, that takes a look back at the life of the actress who shot to overnight fame as one of the original actresses cast in the TV series Charlie’s Angels!

Fawcett, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, made headlines when she quit Charlie’s Angels after its first season in order to pursue a film career. Her three films Somebody Killed Her Husband, Sunburn, and Saturn 3 were not big successes.

However, Fawcett proved she had acting chops in 1984 when she appeared in the critically-acclaimed TV movie The Burning Bed. The actress received an Emmy-nomination for her portrayal of a battered spouse.

Her next big project was the film version of the play Extremities in which she played a woman who turned the tables of her rapist. For this role, Fawcett earned a Golden Globe nomination.

Fawcett’s first TV credit was in 1969 in the series Mayberry R.F.D. as Show Girl No. 1 and her last TV role was Lissa Roman in Hollywood Wives: The New Generation.

In 2006, she was diagnosed with cancer and began a battle that ultimately claimed her life. Among those interviewed for this special are Jaclyn Smith (Kelly, Charlie’s Angels), Alana Stewart, a dear pal of Fawcett’s who helped document her fight against cancer in the documentary Farrah’s Story.

Also interviewed are photographer Bruce McBrook, hairstylist Mela Murphy, Fawcett’s physicians Dr. Lawrence Piro and Dr. Ursula Jacob. Watch for footage of Barbara Walters’ interviews with both Fawcett and her longtime partner, Ryan O’Neal.

Fawcett was 62 years old when she passed away.

This is Farrah Fawcett airs Thursday, May 23 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
