Chad and Abby in Paris, the Days of Our Lives “app-series” is debuting its latest episode today. Will the newlyweds survive or will Austin and Juliet come between them?
DAYS fans have had double the fun by checking out the show’s companion series, Chad and Abby in Paris, this summer. Now, their storyline is climaxing in the 8th (and, for now, final) installment.
“Chad and Abby’s relationship has been tested and will continue to be tested to its limits and beyond,” previews Greg Meng, DAYS’ co-executive producer and the brainchild behind the DOOL App. “Each ‘app-isode’ has been great and has served a purpose, but you hit a point where everything comes together and this episode is that.”
As viewers have seen, Chad and Abby have been facing some challenges in their marriage brought about by Chad’s work demands. Their dynamic has been challenged also by Austin (Austin Peck), whom Abby once had a massive crush on, and Juliet (Rachele Schank), Chad’s co-worker, who is attracted to him. Will Chad turn down Juliet? Don’t miss the episode to find out!
The app-isodes have not only shown what Chad and Abby have been up to away from Salem, but also Austin and his response to Carrie’s (Christie Clark) fling with Rafe (Galen Gering). “I was talking to Austin and he said the dialogue [in the app-isodes were] like beautifully colored toys given to a child and he said that he was inspired to do something with them.”

Meng says the response to both the DOOL App and Chad and Abby in Paris has been tremendous. “The cast got a tremendous response,” Meng says. “And I can’t say enough about [head writer Ron Carlivati] and writers Ryan Quan and Dave Ryan, who’s created the facets of this jewel.”
