One thing is for sure, Days of Our Lives (DOOL) would not hire three-time Daytime Emmy winner Jennifer Landon (she won in 2006, 2007, and 2008 for portraying Gwen on As the World Turns), to play a character who just bakes banana bread and stops by to welcome her new neighbors.
Landon made her DOOL debut on Tuesday, March 21. At first, she just seemed overly friendly and overly chatty (even though she apologized for it). But then, at the end of the episode, viewers learned that Hilary was a police detective on an open-ended vacation after dealing with a case that almost sent her over the edge.
So, what does this mean for Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Brady, who are hiding out in a cabin along the Canadian border, pretending to be the happily married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Smith (ha, inside joke!)?
What’s interesting is that Brady and Nicole took the trouble to change their own names, but Nicole stupidly called Holly by her real one in front of Hilary.
Smell Test
Hilary does not appear to be an idiot. How long before she starts smelling something fishy about Nicole and Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) cover story, and begins putting two and two together? Or worse, making official requests for information that might trickle in the direction of the Salem PD?

Nobody Knows The Troubles I’ve Seen
Then again, didn’t Hilary seem overly eager to make friends and insinuate herself into her new neighbors’ lives? She wanted to know their jobs, their plans, their meet-cute story? Is that kind of third-degree normal?
We heard Hilary tell her captain that the last case she investigated almost killed her. Is Hilary cracking up? And could the “Smiths” end up paying the price?
Could Nicole have stolen Holly from Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) only to lose her again to someone who’s even more of a threat?
