The year was 2009, and it looked like it was going to be the last we ever of John and Marlena on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
The show at least wanted to please angry fans by letting this epic supercouple marry (again) before they left the show.
With Brady (Eric Martsolf), Roman (Josh Taylor), and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) as witnesses in the hospital room, the ceremony was a sweet one. One especially moving moment was when Stefano (Joe Mascolo) appears and salutes the couple.

But of course, the magic is between John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) themselves — as they bask in their love during the makeshift ceremony. Thank goodness they returned to Salem and fans get to continue to watch their amazing love story.
