Ever since Claire burst in and ruined their wedding on Days Of Our Lives (DOOL), Rafe has been pushing Hope to take him back – even as she keeps pushing back with annulment papers.

Let her cool off. Let her start to remember all the good times with you, which even a one-night stand – after she refused to marry you, may we add – can’t take away.
Let her get a sense of how empty her house feels, and how boring it is at work, not being able to sneak away for some love in the afternoon (on the Salem Police Department’s dime). If you love someone, set them free, yadda, yadda, yadda… You know the rest.

Rafe loves Hope, and this is no time to play hard to get. He needs to prove to her that she can trust him again, and that the happily ever after he promised her is still a possibility. They can still make this work.
Plus, Hope’s husbands have a habit of coming back from the dead. So Rafe doesn’t have much time to waste!
