Now that Marlena has woken up from her coma on Days of Our Lives, where does that leave Hattie?
Sure, she forced John (Drake Hogestyn) to marry her, thinking it would give her some kind of legal standing.
But since she coerced John into signing it, Hattie (Deidre Hall) doesn’t have a leg to stand on. John can kick her to the curb – or the prison – anytime he feels like it.
But would the fans like that? Here’s what almost 6,000 said.
Much Too Much
There’s room for only one Marlena in Salem, 63% of you assert, and that’s the real Marlena – not Hattie.
She is way too over the top, even when reasonably blaming Sami (Alison Sweeney) for shooting her and Belle (Martha Madison) for insisting on pulling the plug.
Her comedy is too broad, her voice is too loud, her neediness is too bottomless. Goodbye, Hattie!
Maybe she can stay for a little while, 23% say, and are less harsh. Especially if the chance to play Hattie periodically is what’s keeping Hall playing Marlena, which is obviously a less fun role for her.
Hattie shouldn’t be a full meal, but maybe she can be an appetizer? A spice? A cherry on top?
Give a Hoot
Hattie is a hoot, a minority 13% cheer! Everyone else in Salem is so dour and serious and boring, it’s super fun to see Hattie speak her mind! She’s also not a goody-goody.
Now that Hattie tricked Eve (Kassie DePaiva) into spilling some family secrets, how will she use it to her advantage? Is there some blackmail in Hattie’s future that might keep her out of prison and in Salem for the long haul? Hey, maybe she even has a chance with her dream guy, Roman (Josh Taylor)?
