The moment Days of our Lives fans knew was coming finally happened. Stephanie’s fear and discomfort following her kidnapping, combined with her not following gun safety protocol, almost had drastic consequences.

Key Takeaways

  • Stephanie’s loved ones ignored her discomfort.
  •  Joy could have been killed.
  • Those close to Stephanie aren’t doing her any favors.

Stephanie’s Worst Nightmare Is Far From Over

Ever since Owen (Wes Ramsey) kidnapped her, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) has been reeling. While her fear and feelings are valid, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and her parents have been ignoring red flags.

Stephanie has repeatedly shared how unsafe she felt in her own home. Alex and Steve (Stephen Nichols) supported her need to have a gun.

However, they missed the distress signs she was giving off, especially when Kelsey (Lena and Mira Chase) came into the mix. Stephanie’s desire not to have children hasn’t been a secret, but her reaction to Kesley was very unlike her.

Alex brushed it off, even when Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) clocked it. Stephanie told Brady (Eric Martsolf) she wasn’t ready to be a stepmother to the baby. Instead of raising a red flag, Brady insisted that time changes everything.

The fact that Stephanie wanted to attend Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) wedding without her husband was so out of character. Again, no one thought it was a big deal despite it being so not like Stephanie.

In the June 10 episode, things came to a head when Stephanie nearly shot Joy as the latter used a key Stephanie saw Alex give her to enter their apartment. Stephanie appears to understand the magnitude of what happened as Joy remains freaked out over the incident.

Alex, though, seems to be discounting the severity of what Stephanie did and what could have happened. There’s no question Alex loves Stephanie, but by downplaying her actions, he isn’t helping her.

We aren’t saying Alex shouldn’t support his wife; he should. The longer he ignores what is really going on with Stephanie, the more he’s hurting her and others.

It’s also putting his relationship with his daughter in jeopardy. Joy’s rightfully upset and concerned about having Kelsey around Stephanie, especially as Alex pushes her not to press charges.

The fallout of Stephanie’s dangerous actions will reach far and wide. Stephanie needs help, not people ignoring her feelings or what she is saying. Hopefully, this leads her to get the help she so desperately needs before someone really does get hurt.
